چکیده
Abstract This study aims to analyze of the structural behavior two-story building under combination earthquake forces and tsunami hydrodynamic forces, with model variations included percentage wall’s opening thickness. The 3-D modeling buildings were conducted in this using software SAP 2000; first consisted wall panels openings 0% (PD0), 25% (PD25), 35% (PD35), 50% (PD50), while second 150 mm 250 In addition, force predicted by numerical simulations based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamic (SPH) was compared that semi-empirical design equations. results panel show greater opening, smaller load can be carried out structure hence, lesser stresses wall. increase building’s thickness from loads decreased stress walls, moments transverse forces. Conversely, tensile shear walls increased due loads. comparison shows maximum SPH generally higher

Parametric Study of Plastic Load of Cylindrical Shells With Opening Subject to Combined Loading
In this paper, the plastic limit load of cylindrical shells with opening subject to combined bending moment and axial force are found by finite element method using ANSYS suite of program. The effect of various parameters such as the geometrical ratios of shell and the shape, size, axial and angular position of the opening on the limit load of cylindrical shells under various loading conditions...
متن کاملUltimate Load Capacity and Behavior of Thin-Walled Curved-Steel Square Struts, Subjected to Compressive Load
There have been some experimental tests on hollow curved-steel struts with thin-walled square sections, in order to investigate their general behavior, particularly their capacity for bearing differing loads. One set of square tubes are cold-formed into segments of circular arcs with curvature radii, equal to 4000 mm. Different lengths of curved struts are fabricated so as to cover a practical ...
متن کاملCapacitor Placement in Distorted Distribution Network Subject to Wind and Load Uncertainty
Utilizing capacitor banks is very conventional in distribution network in order for local compensation of reactive power. This will be more important considering uncertainties including wind generation and loads uncertainty. Harmonics and non-linear loads are other challenges in power system which complicates the capacitor placement problem. Thus, uncertainty and network harmonics have been con...
متن کاملExperimental Load Transfer of Piles Subject to Lateral Soil Movement
Remediation of slope failures requires stabilization alternatives that address causes of slope instability. Slope reinforcement and pile stabilization systems, if properly designed, are effective in preventing slope movements in weak soils. Soil load transfer to pile elements from the lateral soil movement as occurs in slope failures is a complex soil-structure interaction problem, and the sign...
متن کاملNatural selection in populations subject to a migration load.
Migration tends to oppose the effects of divergent natural selection among populations. Numerous theoretical and empirical studies have demonstrated that this migration-selection balance constrains genetic divergence among populations. In contrast, relatively few studies have examined immigration's effects on fitness and natural selection within recipient populations. By constraining local adap...
